The Technology District supports the growth of high technology companies by creating a permanent exchange of knowledge between Large Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, Universities, Research Centers and Institutions.
Involving talent, companies, public and private funding, SIIT develops programs and projects with strong repercussions on the Ligurian entrepreneurial fabric.
Through the analysis of scenarios, the organization of missions as well as meetings with European and extra-European district systems, SIIT enables international exchanges for the industries of the Technology District, with special regard to the SME sector.
SIIT facilitates and accelerates the process of commercial penetration abroad, especially towards emerging territories and markets.
SIIT promotes higher education through universities with three-year PhD scholarships and research grants, in order to offer young researchers the opportunity to develop their talents on research projects of primary interest to companies which are offered a set of human resources who are high level specialists.
The Ligurian Technology District employs laboratories to allow for the development and testing of projects promoted by SIIT.
These labs have state-of-the-art equipment, complementary to those already available at the research labs of the University of Genoa, the National Research Council (CNR) as well as at companies belonging to the District
